Ethereum Classic is an open, decentralized, and permissionless public blockchain, that aims to fulfill the original promise of Ethereum, as a platform where smart contracts are free from third-party interference. ETC prioritizes trust-minimization, network security, and integrity. All network upgrades are non-contentious with the aim to fix critical issues or to add value with newly proposed features; never to create new tokens, or to bail out flawed smart contracts and their interest groups.
Hey guys, I am new to crypto. I am trying to transfer my eth to bittrex from my other wallet so I can have a more diverse wallet. I have done all the necessary things to do to send it, however when I click the + on ethereum, the "Waiting for new address" is still there. I have been trying to get a new address for 3 days and it still says it. Is there something else I need to do or do I just have to wait?
I made an Ethereum deposit into Bittrex from Gemini on 1/26/18, as I do every two weeks. Only this time, the deposit is not being shown on Bittrex's end, although is is accepted by Gemini and the Ethereum Blockchain. I do have more than .1 ETH in the wallet. I am trying to invest in an altcoin but my Ethereum withdraw and deposit address is missing from my account. This is so weird, I logged out and signed in several times and still no luck. Says "Ethereum Address is loading"
Hey, how long does it take to transfer Eth from gdax to bittrex usually? I'm waiting for 5h now and still not showing.. also: when should the transaction appear on etherscan for example. I can also not see it there yet thanks a lot for you help
IT FINALLY CAME THROUGH! FALSE ALARM I made a potentially huge mistake and sent ETH directly to my Bittrex Ethereum account. After it not appearing in the account I went back and checked and it specifically says 'Do not send ETH from GDAX directly to an Ethereum contract. Sending to a contract may result in lost ETH.' I have actually sent ETH before GDAX->Coinbase->Bittrex but I was in a hurry and didn't think about it. :( Has anyone done this before. Is my ETH lost forever? This was a substantial sum :/
I have an amount of Ethereum on my Ledger Nano S Ethereum Hard Wallet, I tried to send out the entire balance to my Bittrex Ethereum Wallet, and all went well, till the transaction ran out of GAS, and was cancelled, and now I get my money back minus the minors fee for the GAS. How am I get get this Eth out of the HW and onto an exchange to buy other coin with it?
In the last week I opened a Bittrex account and bought into the top 25 tokens. I used Market caps from coinmarketcap.com and balanced new buys vs. my existing coinbase BTC and ETH balances. When I first learned of ICONOMI from it's market cap, I wanted to own $12 of it. Bittrex doesnt offer it for trade and my US State doesnt allow Polonix or Kraken accounts. So I looked up how to buy it in a wallet rather than an exchange. There's likely 10 ways to do it, but heres what ended up working for me... Step 1. Download Ethereum wallet app for my PC.(I had never tried it out before) 2. Add the ICONOMI token to the wallet. (About 4 clicks+cut/paste token id, search the web like I did) 3. Use shapeshift.io to trade any of your other coins and send ICN to your same new Ethereum wallet address. 4. Since you added the ICN token with 0 balance from step 2 above earlier, in about 1.5 minutes you see your new ICN balance appear in your Ethereum wallet. Thats it. I learned that ICN is a sub token in an ethereum account and funding ICN involves sending ICN to the 'parent' ethereum address and that there is no standalone ICN wallet or address.(I could be wrong here) Since I can send ICN to any ethereum address and the balance appears in a sub-token, what would happen if I sent ICN to my coinbase or Bittrex ethereum funding address? Would the ICN be lost or locked forever, would the exchange notice and steal or refund or refuse it? Would that ICN just sit there with a hidden balance and maybe someday if the exchange added ICN, then I could see the balance? Just curious. Im still curious how sending ICN tokens to an ETH parent address works. I want to find my other eth compatible tokens and save more in my ethereum wallet rather than at the exchanges. It worked so smooth, I decided to buy 4x Market cap of ICN, or $48 for my $10K USD portfolio. Best of luck, and I hope to learn more about ICN in the future.
I feel I was robbed by Bittrex. My bittrex account is verified. First of all, I bought bitcoin at 35 cents and made a killing off of it. Then the price went down and I got out. Now, MtGox style exchanges own the market. I admit I fell behind on my bitcoin skills. But I am no beginner to crypto currency. Here is what happened to me. I bought bitcoin, etherium and litecoin on CoinBase. I was able to transfer Litecoin onto my Bittrex account from coinbase with no problem. I sent ethereum to bittrex ethereum wallet and the money just vanished. Gone. Block chain says that the transaction was completed to my bittrex wallet. But of course my bittrex wallet has no ethereum it. Days have gone by. Nothing. Just Got robbed by bittrex. But I was not mad. I chopped it up to user error. Even though the block chain does not lie. I gave bittrex the benefit of the doubt. Like a sucker. So, I wanted to knowledge about these exchanges and am willing to loose money to gain education in bitcoin exchanges. But I thought I would loose money via bad investment. Not getting totally robbed by Bittrex. Finally, Coinbase is not able to send bitcoin to bittrex. I understand this. Bitcoin cash. I get it. I understand that I walked back into the crypto market during sever turbulence. But the blockchain does not make mathematical mistakes. I split up my bitcoin from coinbase. I sent bitcoin from coinbase to several different wallets. All I wanted to do was get on coinbase and buy some potcoin and maxcoin. That is it. I then began trying to send money to my bittrex wallet. $150 missing dollars later I decided to quadruple check all my addresses. I copied and pasted them like most people do. But I manually checked every wallet address I sent. All my information was accurate. My bittrex wallet is somehow redirecting my coins to somewhere else. Bittrex stole or lost my bitcoin. Because I attempted so many times to send coin to bittrex, and every experiment turned up as a failure, I think bittrex scammed me. Buyer Beware Bittrex Scam.
